To Texas!

When you have a few days off and a bike, you can put your hands to the handlebars and just hit the road!  So I left from work and headed for the hills!

Brisbane to the Gold Coast and work!  Start getting excited about midday – then it rained!  Oh well, it’s only EVERYTHING wet!  I’ll survive.

I don’t care how many times I do it, I enjoy the little trip from Nerang through Canungra, Beaudesert, Boonah, Aratula.  If you’ve only got a little bit of time, just do it.  You won’t regret it.

Next stop was Warwick – some dry clothes, a good night’s sleep and get ready for a day or two in the sun.

I then decided on where I would head:  no particular order.  Texas, Allora, Millmerran and Leyburn.

Luck would have it – the BEST riding weather for weeks – the sun was shining, birds were singing and I had some great bike riding roads.  From Stanthorpe to Texas has to be one of those ‘great’ little roads.

I met up with a heap of riders – Ulyssians, rally goers, general travellers.  Hell, I even got to ‘talk’ to Mr Plod!

Leyburn is always great – I love its history!

Allora and Millmerran were picture perfect!

Between riding, talking, eating and sleeping, time disappeared and my few days of leisure were over!

But WOW – just to escape to nowhere – going somewhere – just to be ME.

What more could you ask?
